- Update repos and add certs
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install apt-transport-https ca-certificates -
Add the new GPG key.
$ sudo apt-key adv --keyserver hkp://p80.pool.sks-keyservers.net:80 --recv-keys 58118E89F3A912897C070ADBF76221572C52609D -
Add repo to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/docker.list file
deb https://apt.dockerproject.org/repo ubuntu-xenial main -
Install Docker.$ sudo apt-get install docker-engine

Test Docker with this command:
sudo docker run hello-world
Now let's create a docker group to run docker without being SUDO.
- Create Docker Group:
sudo groupadd docker -
Add your user to docker group.$ sudo usermod -aG docker $USER
